Getting Ready...

Oh, if only I could get back to my Cheerleader days. I was the biggest cheerleader and I thought I was huge, but oh how I would love to be back at that weight of about 130. I weighed this morning to check my Christmas vacation damage and the scale read 264! I have a long way to go, but I am going to get there. I can't let another 10, 15, 20 years go by and be this miserable. I cleaned about my pantry and refrigerator today. I am going to make out my menus and go grocery shopping tomorrow for the next week. Changing your life takes time and planning and I am ready to devote my time to this.

More about me

This picture was taken on December 1, 2005, which was my son R.J.'s 4th birthday. I hope to look a lot different by the time R.J. turns 5 on December 1, 2006. R.J. is my life and I want to have the energy and good health to keep up with him. Plus, I would like to be able to give him a brother or sister one day, but at my current weight that would be too risky. I had borderline toxemia when I was pregnant with him and I weighed about 40 pounds less when I started my pregnancy with him than I do now. So another pregnancy at this weight is out of the question.

Hi. My name is Melody and I am starting this blog so that I can document my weight loss in 2006. I have struggled with weight for most of the 30 years of my life so far and I am determined to make this the year to win the weight loss battle once and for all. I hope to post at least 2-3 times per week, but will try to post more because I know that the key to me losing weight is to stay focused on my goal.
