Day 54, 55, 56

I didn't mean to go the whole weekend without posting. It has just been a really hectic past week. I had company Friday and Saturday and then on Sunday I had to go to Hattiesburg for my Great-Aunt's funeral visitation. I didn't really know her and that's sad. Tonight I was supposed to go to class, but my Mom completely forgot she was babysitting for me tonight and she got carried away in Wal-Mart and didn't get home in time. Ooops...

I have been eating fine the past few days. I haven't eaten too much or eaten any of the wrong foods, but I am not going to try to recount everything I have eaten for the past three days here. I will start reporting foods again tomorrow.

Day 53

Well, today I made a conscious decision to "cheat". R.J. and I met a friend of mine and here two kids at Chuckie Cheese so I decided that I could use today as my one day for the rest of this month to cheat. So, I had four pieces of cheese pizza. We had fun and then we went to the movies to see Curious George. It was a really cute movie.

So, here's what I ate today:

Day 52

Well, tomorrow is Friday. I am so glad. I had such bad cramps today that I didn't know if I was going to be able to stay at work so I am ready for the weekend for sure! Luckily, I haven't had any serious cravings with my monthly visit from Aunt Flo. I'm tired and R.J. is ready to go to bed so tonight this is short.

Day 51

Wednesday! The week is half over! The weekend will be here before I know it. I am planning to take R.J. to see Nanny McPhee this weekend and I think he will like it...the popcorn will be a real temptation though.

Today was fine. It's been a busy day. I had to come home, clean up the kitchen, then go to Wal-Mart to get a few things I needed for my youth lesson at church, and then head to church. I just now got back home. Now, I am tired and ready to sit down with a diet Mountain Dew and my new Shape magazine I picked up from Wal-Mart.

Here's what I ate today:

Day 50

Only Tuesday...when will the weekend be here again. Just two more school weeks until Spring Break! I am ready for the break. Of course we aren't going anywhere because Cliff still has to work, but at least I am relax and have fun taking R.J. to the movies or skating or whatever.

Today was fine. Cliff really wanted Tacos for supper so I fixed them as healthy as I could for me and R.J. I used whole wheat tortillas, light sour cream, and extra lean hamburger meat. I listed my food intake at www.fitday.com and today I consumed about 1400 calories. I am happy as long as I am under 1500, but soon I am going to take it down to about 1200 so that I can speed up my weight loss.

Here's what I ate today...
Breakfast - Kashi Cereal and Skim Milk
Lunch - Slim Fast Bar and Orange
Supper - 2 Burritos with whole wheat tortillas, lean hamburger meat, light sour cream, etc.
Snacks - about 10 almonds

Day 49 (Start of Week 8)

Well, Monday is almost over. It was a good day. I really don't ever feel compelled to eat off my plan so each day goes by smoothly. Now, the hard part will be to decrease my calories from about 1600 to about 1200 so that my weight loss will speed up some. Day 48

The weekend is over already! It goes by so fast. I did accomplish a lot though. I cleaned most of the house yesterday and did all the laundry. Today I tackled R.J.'s room, which was a disaster area and cleaned out 3 bags of stuff to donate and organized every thing else. Now, I am about to start cooking supper soon. This week at work I have early morning duty which means I have to get to work every day at 7:15 A.M. instead of 7:45 A.M. so that will be a challenge. My husband will be taking R.J. to school since it would be impossible for me to get him there and be on time since his school just opens its doors right at 7:15 A.M. So, this week will be tiring, but at least I have the week off from graduate classes. I finished the last class last week and will start a new class next week.

Day 47

Today was a fine day. It was a relaxed day at work since there were no children in the building and I had time to get caught up on some paperwork. Now I am glad it is the weekend. Tomorrow R.J. has yet another birthday party. This time it is for twin boys turning 4 and it will be at the local skating rink. I attempted to take R.J. skating a few weeks ago and he just couldn't balance so we went to Wal-Mart tonight and got some Fisher Price skates for beginners. They only fit a shoe size 6-12 and he wears a 12 now, but I hope they will fit him long enough for him to learn to skate and then we can get real skates. I plan to skate with R.J. tomorrow so that will be good exercise...I have to be careful and not fall down because that would not be a good thing for me since I have scoliosis and 2 herniated disks, which I have lived with for about 6 years now.

Day 45&46

Yesterday was such a long and busy day that I didn't get to post. This week has seemed so long...I guess it is because I was sick all last weekend and really didn't feel like I got a weekend at all. Tomorrow will be a Staff Development Day with no students at school so that will be a nice break from the daily routine. I am so ready for the weekend though and I am really ready for Spring Break - just 3 more weeks to go! It's amazing to think that I have been on my new eating plan since New Years and now it will soon be Spring Break. If I can make it this long, I know I can make it the rest of the year and beyond....

Day 44

Well, I was up at 4:00 A.M. for the second night in a row last night. This time I had a sinus headache so bad I actually had to get up and take pain medicine. I rarely take any kind of pain medicine unless I absolutely have to so I was really hurting. So, I am tired again, but I still have to drive 35 miles to graduate class and then 35 miles back tonight. Ugh!! I have to go because it is our last meeting (we use the trimester system instead of semester).

I also have to report that my clothing size has gone down. Back in September I ordered clothes from Silhouettes.com (my favorite catalog for plus sizes) and had to order shirts in a 3X because of my stomach. Well, I just ordered some more shirts and this time I ordered 2X just hoping they would fit...they are all button ups and they all button and look good!!!

Eating was fine today. I did not eat a single piece of Valentine Candy!! Candy and cupcakes were everywhere, but I just had to say no. Here's what I did eat today...

Day 42 & 43

Well, I am feeling a little better today, but I am tired. I woke up at 4am this morning and could not go back to sleep. I think the cold medicine I took kept me from sleeping well. Yesterday, I decided to have a free meal for supper so we ordered pizza. I ate only 3 pieces and did not feel the urge to go back for seconds. Prior to supper, I had cereal for breakfast and Weight Water Frozen meal for lunch. I haven't felt like exercising since Friday night, but hope I will feel like it again soon. Tomorrow will be a long day since I have graduate class so I know I won't get to it tomorrow, but maybe on Wednesday I will feel up to it.

Wish me luck tomorrow...we will be having Valentine's parties at school and candy and cakes and junk will be everywhere. I think I can abstain though since tonight I put together treat bags for R.J.'s preschool class and for all my students and I didn't sample any of the candy.

Day 41

Today I woke up very sick. It's not the flu or anything like that, but it is a really bad cold. I have been really cold all day and achy. My nose is stopped up, but running at the same time. I don't have a fever so that is good and so far R.J. is not feeling bad. He didn't get sick the last time I had a cold so I hope he won't get this one either. Needless to say, I don't feel like exercising, but I have still been trying to watch what I eat.

Here's what I had today...
2 servings of Fiber One Cereal and Skim Milk (the box was almost empty so I finished it off)
3 small pieces of chocoloate candy (being ill made me weak to temptation)
1 bowl of left over Stirfry from last night
1 oz. of almonds
2 pieces of Colby Jack cheese snacks
1 Can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup

I may have a small snack before bed, but I am not sure what yet. Maybe a frozen weight watcher desert or something like that. I ate more today that I usually would, but maybe it will kick up my metabolism since so far this week the scale does not show a loss.

Day 40

40 days and 40 nights...I have been on my plan for the length of Noah's Flood! Amazing isn't it? I am still feeling a little yucky today like I am coming down sick and it's really cold again...going to be in the 20's tonight. I haven't accomplished as much house cleaning as I usually do on Friday nights so I will be busy tomorrow with laundry and cleaning... I tend to let the house go during the week. I know it would be easier if I just cleaned up a little every day, but there's always so much more to do. Here's what I ate today...

Day 39

It has been so cold today! Well, really it's been in the 50's most of the day, but that's cold in Mississippi plus I think I am coming down with a cold so I feel even colder. I am hoping I don't spend my whole weekend being sick.

I am about to take R.J. to gymnastics, so this will be short tonight. Here's what I ate today:

Day 37 & 38

Wednesday! The weekend is right around the corner. I didn't get to post yesterday because I didn't get home from graduate class until after 10:00 P.M. I was so tired and then overslept this morning and had about 20 minutes to take a shower, wash my hair, put on my makeup, and get dressed so my day started off very hectic. Then, as soon as I got to school I had a meeting with a parent and then my schedule was off for the day. I was supposed to go to church tonight, but after rushing home to meet the Orkin Pest Control people I was just too tired to go back out. Not to mention, R.J. had already said he wanted to just stay home, too. Tomorrow night I take R.J. to gynastics so I decided to take tonight off. My eating the past two days has been fine. I will list what I have eaten below. I didn't have time for exercise yesterday, but I am going to do at least a 1 mile walk tonight before bed.

Day 36 (Start of Week 6)

I can hardly believe it has been 6 weeks since I started my new way of eating. This is the longest I have stuck to a plan in a long time and I really feel like this time will stick. I feel so much better. In the past I would feel so disgusted with myself after eating fried, greasy foods, or too many sweets. At Christmas, I ate a whole pumpkin pie within about 3 days! I will never do that again!

Today was a good day except for the killer headache I had most of the day. Finally when I got home from work I took some Excedrin and it went away. I hate having headaches because they make doing anything a real chore.

I ate well today. Here's what I had...
Breakfast - Fiber One Honey Nut Crunch Cereal and Skim Milk
Lunch - Slim Fast Bar and 2 Pears
Dinner - Weight Watcher Meal with Sara Lee Wheat Bun
Snacks - Salad and Almonds

I am about to do the Leslie Sansone 1 mile workout, too. I don't think I have the energy for the 2 mile one today.

Day 35 (End of Week 5)

Well, as of this morning I am down to 249, which is a total loss of 15 pounds so far and 3 pounds down from last week. I am so happy to be in the 240's and hope to never have to see the 250's and 260's again.

Today is the Super Bowl so we have company and my husband is cooking out so I will probably eat more calories than usual, but I am still going to keep it under control.

Here's what I will eat for the day:
Breakfast - Shredded Wheat Cereal and Skim Milk and Banana
Lunch - Lite Peanut Butter on a Sara Lee Wheat Bun and Slim Fast snack bar
Snack - Salad
Dinner - Grilled Pork Chop, Potato Salad, Baked Beans

UPDATE - I really watched my portions at dinner and passed on bread. Then, I did the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds 2 Mile DVD. I really want to try hard to incorporate exercise this month to see how it will impact my weight loss.

Day 34

Today has been a productive day. I finished a presentation I have to do in my Psychology class this coming Tuesday and also I am nearly finished with my laundry. I kept thinking about doing my Walk Away the Pounds DVD, but I still haven't done it...I have to just stop thinking and talking about it and DO IT!

I was hungrier today than I have been all week at work, but I don't think I went overboard. I ate more than normal, but still made healthy choices. Here's what I ate today...
Breakfast - Honey Nut Crunch Cereal with Skim Milk and Banana
Lunch - Weight Watcher frozen meal with 2 pieces of Sara Lee wheat bread
Snacks - 2 cheese sticks, Lite Yogurt Cup
Dinner - Grilled Chicken, Sweet Potato, and sweet peas

Now that I look at it typed out it really doesn't seem like much more than normal. Tomorrow will be my official weigh in for the week. I am addicted to the scale and so far it has been alternating between 251 and 252 so I may only see a 1 pound loss for this week, but at least I am still going in the right direction.

Day 33

WEAR RED FOR HEART DISEASE AWARENESS TODAY!!!

Well, another week is gone. Just 5 more weeks until Spring Break!!! Then, the school year will be nearly over and my summer vacation will be here before I know it. I hope to be about 40 pounds lighter by summer and that will be great. Right now I am at 252 so maybe by then I can be at 212 and then during the summer I can get under the awful 200 lb. mark.

Today was a good day. I forgot to bring more Slim Fast bars to work so I was tempted to eat the cafeteria lunch, but they had corn dog nuggets or barbeque chicken sandwhiches on white hamburger buns so I didn't think either of those was a good choice, so I had 2 apples and some water. My husband was off today so he cooked supper. He cooked ribeye steaks on the grill and baked potatoes. For breakfast I had my regular shredded wheat cereal and skim milk. Also, I had a cheese stick and some salad for a snack.

Tonight we are going to watch Corpse Bride...I love Tim Burton...one of my all time favorite movies is The Nightmare Before Christmas so I am hoping this one will be good.

Day 32

Today was another good day. I thought for about two minutes about getting the school cafeteria lunch today instead of my usual, but I talked myself out of it. I still can't get motivated to exercise...I know, I know...I have to stop talking about it and do it!

Day 31

Today was fine. I am happy to see a difference between my Jan. 2 pictures and my Feb. 1 pictures. I hope to see as much difference when I do my pictures again at the beginning of March. I have been tired and not doing my exercise DVD's. I have really got to commit myself to do more exercise. My eating today has been O.K.

Snacks - Bowl of Salad with Fat-free Italian Dressing, and some Baked Doritoes (too many of these I think...I won't be buying them again because they are too tempting)
