Things are going ok....

Well, I haven't been cooking much because I have been so busy packing and cleaning, but I have been conscience not to eat too much. I have eaten fast food, but I have limited it and not ate any junk food snacks. Things will be easier once we get moved next week and we get settled in our house. Then, I am going to learn how to use our grill. We have a big nice propane gas grill that my mother and father-in-law got us for Christmas, but I haven't really every used a grill. I usally leave that up to my husband, but he works late hours so I am going to learn to use that thing myself so that I can eat healthier and tastier grilled chicken, etc.

3 more days until we move in...will it ever get here? We signed the contract on this house back in April when it was just a concrete slab so it has been a long wait! I guess by Christmas it will feel like home sweet home!

Back on Track....again

Well, I have been doing well since last Monday. I haven't had any Diet Mountain Dews or any other Diet Colas. I have been drinking lots of water, koolaid with Spenda, and Green Tea. I have been watching what I eat. I have lost about 5 pounds of what I gained back. I need to lose about 4 more to get back to 20 total pounds lost. I hope to accomplish that in the next two weeks. I hope to lose at least 20-25 more before Christmas, but I would be estatic if I could get below the 200 mark...which I haven't seen in probably 7-8 years.

6 more days to Closing on our new house! Luckily, the new mortgage note is so high that I won't be able to afford to overeat!!!

I didn't fall of the face of the Earth...

Yes, that's right. I didn't fall off the face of the Earth, but I have been missing in action for a long time. I was doing so well when I was posting here everyday. I have to start doing it again because I know that holding myself accountable is key to succcess.

So, what has happened since I last posted?

Not surprisingly I gained back some weight...about 10 pounds back of the 20 I lost. That's what happens when I don't track what I am eating and eat whatever I want. Also, I went to the doctor and my blood pressure was up...very scary so now I have extra motivation to do something about my weight. The doctor told me to aim for 1800 calories a day and stop drinking all colas whether regular or diet. I gave them up right away even though I am a major Diet Mountain Dew Addict. I probably spend $35 a month on Diet Mountain Dew! No more! I am drinking just water and occassionally some juice.

The house is almost finished and it is so nice. It will be complete next week and we close on it on July 24th and we will be moving in that day...we can't wait! I think my blood pressure being up has a lot to do with the stress of making decisions about things in the house like lighting and fixtures and with securing our mortgage. I am hoping I will feel a lot less stressed when we sign papers on the 24th. Then, I will just have to worry about how we are going to pay double what we pay now for rent. Well, already I can use the $50 I spend on Diet Mountain Dews and the $50 or so my husband spends on Diet Cokes so that will help. There's a $100 dollars we drink away every month.

I taught summer school this summer, but we finished up Friday! Woohoo! Now I have to finish up a graduate class I am taking this summer and in 2 1/2 weeks I go back to work at my regular teaching job, which will be interesting since my Principal turned in her resignation two weeks ago and several teachers have left as well...it be a new and different work environment this year.

OK so that's what's been going on. I have no excuse for not posting here other that I didn't want to acknowledge that I was eating junk again and getting fat again...no one wants to talk about that. I am back now though and will promise to myself to keep posting here consistently until I lose this weight. My goal is to be at 200 by Christmas. That means I just need to lose about 10 pounds a month until then...I think that is doable if I stay away from junk and get moving...

By the way, when I get paid again at the end of the month I am going to buy a DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) for our Play Station II and two dance pads so my son and I can dance together and that will be our exercise. I am not very coordinated, but I think the game will help me to be more coordinated and it burns about 500 calories in a hour I am told.

Be Back Tommorrow...
